A pleasure to have! Such a polite, friendly bunch of girls.

On Sunday 17th February, players from Aylesbury United Ladies & Girls travelled to Adams Park to support Reading Women in their FA Cup clash against Birmingham City Women.

Aylesbury United are a Sister Club of Reading Women and were invited to provide the flag bearers, ball girls and mascots for the match. Lily Jones, from the U9s, and Imogen White, from the U12 Whites, proudly led out the Reading players at the start of the match while their team-mates provided the guard of honour.

During the game the girls got a pitch-side view of the action and afterwards they got meet the players who posed for autographs and signed photos. “I loved it and can’t wait to do it again!” said an enthusiastic Lily.

It was an extra-special day for Immy, who is the U12 White’s goalie, as she got to meet her idol, Grace Moloney, who is goalkeeper for Reading and the Republic of Ireland. Grace posed for photos and signed her match gloves which she gave to Immy. "It was amazing to watch The Royals play in the 5th round of the FA Cup. They deserved the win and kept the pressure on Birmingham City all match. As a goalie, it was brilliant to watch Grace Moloney play from behind the goal - a real inspiration."

A big thank you to all the girls, coaches and families that came along to show their support for Reading Women and a massive thank you to Reading Women for inspiring the next generation of girl footballers.
