Aylesbury United traveled to Flackwell Heath on Sunday for an end of season friendly and it was well worth the trip. With a team made up of Ladies and U18s Aylesbury started a little rusty after several weeks without a game and were two goals down at half-time. After a discussion at half time they came out in the second half and played some brilliant football. Within 15 minutes they were level with two fine team goals from Catherine Wareham and Keely McLeod. The game, however, swung again and Flackwell Heath scored two quick goals to make it 4-2. The resilience and character of the Aylesbury team was exemplary though and goals from Megan Baillet and a blistering free kick from Amber Chalmers made it 4-4 and a much deserved, fair result. Catherine was player-of-the-match following her first goal for the club and some great, pacy play up front.
