Following the retirement of Mark Rogers, Bethan Cameron has stepped into the role as the ladies new manager.
Taking an early lead, Stonesfield were 2 nil up within the first 10 minutes. Aylesbury suffered a blow when central defender Leigh Reed could not shake off her injury from a pre-season friendly. A quick change of positions was required with player of the match Sara Madden Conner slotting into the centre of defence alongside captain Sarah Gerrard, Jen Lambie moving to centre mid and Mia Kemp on the left wing.
Aylesbury suffered another set back midway through the first half when striker Liz took a nasty knock to her back which left her unable to carry on. This resulted in the Aylesbury manager having to get her boots on pretty quick and step onto the pitch!
Aylesbury got them selfs back into the game with some lovely combination plays between Tiggs, Angie & Kayleigh and strong clearances from Sarah Gerrard and Sara Madden Connor. The game was fairly even and Aylesbury continued to battle and had a couple of chances at goal.
With minutes to go Stonesfield scored their 3rd goal to win the game.
Next week sees the ladies play EB Lions AFC away.
