Aylesbury United Ladies went into the Berks & Bucks Cup game against Wargrave Ladies with confidence after last week's superb win against Woodstock but the injury curse struck again and ended the game with only 10 players.
Having said that it was a very close game and a credit to both teams.
It was the worst of starts for Aylesbury who were behind within 5 minutes.
They soon picked themselves up though and the rest of the half was tight with Aylesbury having a goal disallowed for a very close offside decision.
Just before half-time Aylesbury did manage to get the equaliser. Beanie Cameron, player-of-the-match, in the Aylesbury goal sent a long ball forward which was controlled by Carly Newman. She slipped the ball inside to Megan Baillet who took it on and shot past the Wargrave keeper.
The second half remained very close with both sides making chances.
Mid way through the half a long ball by a Wargrave player was taken by the wind and looped over the Aylesbury keeper to get what ended up being the winning goal.
Aylesbury kept going but were running out of players! A good game with some good performances but it just wasn't to be today.
