There are some games in a season when you just have to admit that the other team were much better. For these games you work hard, keep going and admire the opposition but importantly you learn from the experience. Today's game was one of those for Aylesbury United Ladies as they took on first division team, Kidlington in the league cup. The opposition were young, had enthusiasm and energy and played lovely passing football. After a poor first ten minutes when Aylesbury let in three goals they came back and Sara Madden-Connor scored direct from a corner to make it 3-1. This was as good as it got for Aylesbury though and although they battled hard the opposition ran away with the win. As the cliche goes this means that Aylesbury can concentrate on the league and hopefully learn something from today's game. Player of the match went to Emily Osgerby who played in three positions during the game and gave energy to the midfield as well as defending strongly.
