Aylesbury United Ladies' season started with a narrow defeat against Chinnor Community but there were a lot of positives to take. With four players making their debut for Aylesbury it took a while to get going but it wasn't long before they showed some good football. The passing improved as the half went on it bore fruit in the 34th minute. A through ball was chased down by Beanie Cameron, who had only just come on, and her pass was latched onto by debutante Gemma Warner who slotted it past the keeper to make it 1-0.
The second half also saw some good football with Aylesbury making good chances but several injuries saw them lose their flow and Chinnor equalised in the 65th minute. Chinnor then dominated play making several chances but the Aylesbury United team held firm with good displays at the back by Keri Clark in goal and player of the match, Casey Toovey. With 10 minutes to go Aylesbury picked it up again and were unlucky not to retake the lead. In the final minute though they were hit with a sucker punch as Chinnor took the lead to win 2-1. It was a disappointing result in the end but there were some good performances and some lovely football so Aylesbury can move on to next week with their heads held high.
