Following a tough game last week Aylesbury United Ladies went to Banbury United knowing that it was unlikely to be much easier especially as they were missing some key players. The game was played on a large pitch and Aylesbury did not really adapt to that in the first half leaving too much space in the middle of the pitch. This gave The opposition too much space to play in but it was an own goal that started the scoring for Banbury. Three more goals followed in the first half to make it 4-0 at half time. The second half was a much better performance from Aylesbury United with adjustments made at half time narrowing the play and stopping Banbury from playing through the middle. This lead to a much closer half although Banbury did get three more goals to make it 7-0 at the end. Aylesbury kept going and generally improved as the game went on but did run out of energy on the large pitch. A few personal errors made the score worse than it could have been and if they can cut them out then they will see better results going forward. Well done to Anna Lane who was voted player of the match on her debut for Aylesbury United.
