Aylesbury United wore their poppies with pride today, led my captain Sarah Gerrard holding the remembrance flag and both teams held an emotional 2 minute silence……..Lest We Forget.
The whistle blew, and Aylesbury dominated immediately and with just 6 minutes 54 seconds on the clock Elena Lancaster scored for Aylesbury United.
With a new starting formation of a 4 4 2 diamond, Aylesbury adapted to the change of formation well and played some lovely football, combination passing, closing down and some further chances on goal which the woodwork denied them not once but twice in the first half.
The 2nd half saw Aylesbury making various changes to try and catch Launton off guard.
Launton equalised and all though Aylesbury gave it their just couldn’t find that 2nd goal to gain the 3 points.
There was no doubt of the better side today and the Ladies should all hold their heads up high.
Next week Aylesbury Ladies play Headington Ladies at home.
