With nervous parents and an excited U10s team we arrived at Thame ASM Stadium ready for our Cup Final against Chesham United.
At 9.45 the whistle blew and the girls started battling with some strong defensive play from Jasmine and Faith. After some great passing and movement from the Aylesbury girls the ball landed to Jess, on the edge of the area, who smashed it home for the first goal, 1-0 Aylesbury. Chesham then pulled one back before Aylesbury managed to regain the lead 2-1 (Jess).
Aylesbury were then into top gear and with some fantastic midfield play from Georgina, Ellie and Erin the U10s were able to add a third (Ruby) a fourth (Jess) and the fifth (Chloe) creating a 5-1 lead before half time with Summer keeping Chesham’s attempts away from goal and Jianne making an impact in defense, off the bench.
Second half began and Chesham pulled one back to make it 5-2. Ruby followed this up with another goal for Aylesbury 6-2. With some great passing by Faith, Erin and Ruby they set up Jess, to what turned out to be a special goal, her 100th of the season, taking the score line to 7-2. Chesham battled back with 2 quick replies taking the score line now to 7-4, only for Chloe to hit home an 8th goal for Aylesbury before the final whistle was blown and the Aylesbury girls jumped up and down in celebration, along with the mums and dads.
Chesham awarded a very well deserved Player of the Match to Summer, the team's goalie.
