After finishing last season with only 5 x U11 players, we have 15 available on Sunday (with 3 regulars missing) so were able to enter two teams.

On Sunday 17th June Aylesbury United Girls Green took part in the U11’s tournament with their first match against AFC Reading Orlando Belles. Aylesbury started well with the first goal going our way but then the opponents scored from a penalty making the end result a 1-1 draw.

The second game was against Watford Youth Girls which they won, which then become the pattern for the following games. Most of the team took on goalie not being their normal position but they showed confidence and showed great team spirit.

Our final game was against the U10’s and they played so well being such a strong team we were beaten well.

I had the pleasure of running the Green team on Sunday and was massively impressed with their performances and effort. It was a very inexperienced team who were playing against established teams so I was a bit concerned about what might happen. Although the results didn't go our way, the girls were individually and collectively superb throughout
