September 9th AULFC U12’s Whites v St Albans City Youth Wildcats

12 available today; first match with our new Captain Holly Bowes who deservedly went onto to be given POTM for her commanding defensive display.
Debut for Isla Peaks who handled the occasion well; Isla strove into many attacking areas & was defensively sound too when needed.
Hottest day of the year saw a highly fought game where Aylesbury were dominant for the majority of the match. Aylesbury; thanks to Ellie went 1-0 up early on but St Albans kept this scoreline for the rest of the first half thanks for some super saves from their GK.
After the break Aylesbury started to stretch their lead by an awesome strike by Eva that soared into the back of the net; the keeper had no chance! Olivia slotted in the 3rd goal with a controlled touch that slid the ball past the keeper.
Comfortably 3-0 up saw Holly make a striving run from defence that Ellie capitalised on to give us a 4 goal deficit; bang…middle of the goal from Ellie.
Late on we saw another flying shot that stung the keepers’ hands to make it 5-0; great goal Eva!
The clean sheet wasn’t achieved easily. Defensively as a unit Aylesbury were really strong & organised with Priya making some key saves. Great squad performance; onto game 2 next week in cooler conditions we hope!
