First Half Second Half
Isla Milana x2 (Evie assist)
Liv (Ellie assist)
Ellie (Evie assist)
History between the two teams, 1 - 0 to Stevenage Starlets back in February, who, despite the Whites having overall control of the game, took glory with their early goal.

Today though, our team demonstrated their individual strengths, to combine as a team and once again dominate play with an intent for victory, with goals this time around. From the onset, attempts to score were made with Ellie and Evie making decisive runs to strike. Our defender Rhea twice broke away from defense to take impressive long shots at the target, while her fellow defender Millie, consistently won the ball, her strong passes moving the ball into spaces for the attackers, building chances. Instead of centering in the middle, play became wider to make greater use of the wing.

The team showed greater communication. Holly and Prya linking up to ensure that the ball stayed out of the goal. The girls looked confident, both anticipating the balls that came their way to save and clear. Meanwhile, in midfield, Imogen, who continually proves how good she is at marking, made smooth passes into spaces for Evie, whose quick pace and turns continually kept the ball in play so that she could feed the players upfront. It was exciting to watch from the sidelines as the two even took shots as well, with Holly joining them and nearly scoring too! Olivia, who battled to free herself from her 3 markers, tackled and retrieved passes to make several strikes and Milana, who also made opportunities in midfield, got on the end of balls to take shots. After great suspense, the first goal to hit the target came from Isla, who took on her markers to score. Soon after, Stevenage Starlets who had been mainly led by Aylesbury, took advantage of a minor defensive slip to score, making it a 1-1 draw at the end of the first half.

In defence, our players were strong when the Starlets ventured forward. Mia read the game to make instinctive tackles, Grace made decisive clearances while Rhea proved herself a strong choice to take throws, with power and accuracy that her team took advantage of. Despite the opposition’s goal, Aylesbury United Whites were still spurred on by Isla’s strike on target and the girls continued the onslaught of goals. Milana gave us our second with a lob over the keeper. After Olivia’s first goal was disallowed for being ‘dubiously’ offside, she struck the target again for our third goal, retrieving the ball from Ellie’s assist. Our fourth goal came from Evie’s corner, Milana making sure to score with a fantastic volley. Our fifth and final goal came from our consistent goal scorer Ellie who showed us her power to strike the target. Final score 5-1 to Aylesbury United Whites.

Too many highlights to mention in the report, though the coaches praised the whole team for their collective efforts to secure the convincing win and showing off their confidence to be more creative in their positions. Today's player of the match, our talented battler Isla, who proved she could play upfront and take on the opposition's defence, to score our first and very crucial goal of the match. Well done Isla!
