This week’s report has been written by Chenea:
The U12 Greens succeeded in 3-2 win against Chesham on Saturday 1st December. The pitch was was in a bad condition and it was raining.
We started strongly, attacked and kept possession of the ball. We had many shots at goal but struggled to get past the goalkeeper.
Eventually the goals did come and by second half we had already scored 3 goals and we were determined to keep going. Unfortunately, Chesham pulled a goal back and were awarded a controversial penalty and manage to score. This caused us to loose our confidence and we struggled a bit in our defending. Our main aim was to defend our half and keep the score line as it was.
We showed a lot of determination to keep the score line 3-2.
This was slightly a bigger challenge to what we had experienced in previous matches and it was very satisfying to come out with a win.
Well done to all the girls for the hard work especially Julia who got player of the match and rightly deserved as she tirelessly ran alone up front.
-------------------------------------------------
I thought all of the girls were excellent again. If we achieve anything in the league this season, we will look back at these three points as vitally important. In horrible weather, on a muddy pitch and playing against an excellent Chesham side, the girls rose to the challenge of having no keeper or subs to put in their best performance of the season.
Thanks to Felicia, Maisie and Paige for volunteering to play in goal.
The defence were superb to protect the keepers and we played some brilliant football going forward.
Julia was rightly voted potm, have to say though that Chenea was absolutely immense in the middle of the park
